Welcome
Dr. Jane Alcorn, Professor and Dean

Greetings,
As we embark on another exciting semester, I am thrilled to share the remarkable achievements and upcoming events within our college. We eagerly anticipate the Graduate Student Research Symposium, a showcase of our students' innovative research. Expanded scope of pharmacy practice continues to take hold in the province, enhancing the role of pharmacists in healthcare.
Our alumni are making waves, from crafting artisanal chocolates to providing expert nutrition consultations, and we celebrate their success. Additionally, our recent webinar on Food Systems, Resilience, and Nutrition Impact highlighted critical issues in global health.
Congratulations to our alumni who have received prestigious awards, exemplifying the excellence and impact of our community. Together, we continue to advance the fields of pharmacy and nutrition and make a difference in the province.

Nutrition Seminar February 7
Enactus USask’s Giving FWRD project
Enactus USask’s Giving FWRD project is hosting a Nutrition Seminar, and they would love any interested students to attend. This discussion will explore the deep connections between food insecurity, homelessness, and emotional well-being.
The guest speaker, Amy Pickering, R.D., a registered dietitian, covered:
The physical, mental, and emotional impact of food insecurity and starvation. The connection between food and mental health, including how access to food supports well-being. How food programs like Giving FWRD go beyond nutrition to foster emotional and social connections.
Pre-Dietetics Club
Providing Important information about pursuing a career in Nutrition and Dietetics
The Pre-Dietetics Club has been making a splash in the community. Each year, they host a Pre-Dietetics Club event where students have the opportunity to hear from registered dietitians and learn more about the application process for the college. This event provides students with an opportunity to learn about the profession and the nutrition program, as well as to meet and hear from current nutrition students.
They had a great attendance wanting to learn more about the college and a career in Nutrition and Dietetics. They even did a live stream of their event that you can re-watch on their social media.
They started a Facebook page and created some wonderful content showcasing student life and what it's like to be in at the college, and what the program has to offer.
