Overview

The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan develops pharmacy and nutrition professionals and researchers who advance health, drive discovery, and engage with communities. For more than a century, our graduates have strengthened the well‑being of people in Saskatchewan and beyond.

Grounded in principles of respect, collaboration, innovation, integrity, and accountability, we unite the complementary disciplines of pharmacy and dietetics. Guided by Indigenization, decolonization, and equity, diversity, and inclusion, we work toward a health system that is responsive, culturally grounded, and future focused.

Programs

A four-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (BScNutr), and graduate programs in pharmacy, nutrition, and interdisciplinary health research. These are fully accredited programs.

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Two years of pre-pharmacy studies is required, after which students may apply to enter the PharmD program. Students will study for 4 years in the pharmacy program, after which they will graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, and open up a world of opportunities!

Bachelor of Science in NutritionThe B.Sc. (Nutrition) program involves an exciting and unique structure and a partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (Saskatoon or Regina). One year of pre-Nutrition studies is required, after which students may apply to enter the B.Sc. (Nutr.)

Admissions

Both the Nutrition and Pharmacy undergraduate programs require the following admission requirements: prerequisite coursework, a minimum admission average, a situational judgment test (Casper) and personal video interview.

Research and Facilities

Our researchers advance discovery in drug delivery, biotechnology, nanotechnology, clinical pharmacy practice, food and nutrition science, and health education. Students and faculty work in modern laboratories, such as the Nutrition food lab and Apotex lab, clinical training spaces, and interdisciplinary research environments that foster innovation and inquiry.

Community Impact

The College contributes to Saskatchewan’s health landscape through specialized services and outreach programs, including the Medication Assessment Centre, USask Chronic Pain Clinic, medSask, RxFiles, and USask Continuing Pharmacy Education.
