About
Dr. Anisha Mahajan (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in the Nutrition Division at the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan. She is a Registered Dietitian with over 15 years of experience in healthcare and has worked as a Certified Diabetes Educator for 8 years in Ontario.
Dr. Mahajan completed her PhD in Human Health Sciences at the University of Guelph, where she investigated sugar and non-nutritive sweetener intake in young children. Her postdoctoral research at Ontario Tech University and the University of Guelph focused on paid partnership disclosures by dietitians on social media and sodium intake in young children.
She also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and a BASc in Nutrition and Food from Toronto Metropolitan University. Her dietetic training included placements with ARAMARK Canada Ltd.
Research Interests
Dr. Mahajan’s research focuses on:
- Community-based participatory approaches for early-life lifestyle health promotion programs
- Racial diversity in the dietetics workforce
- Sugar, non-nutritive sweetener, and sodium intake in young children
