Nutrition Student Project Showcase 2026
Nutrition 330 & 430
By Jason BelhumeurStudents in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition demonstrated the depth and breadth of their professional training during the annual Nutrition Student Project Showcase, an event celebrating hands‑on learning across the nutrition program.
The showcase featured student work from multiple years of the program and was open to members of the college, registered dietitians from the community, and invited guests. The event provided an opportunity for students to practice professional communication skills while highlighting projects developed throughout their coursework.
Second‑year students presented evidence‑based nutrition resource handouts on a wide range of topics. These projects emphasized key foundational skills, including locating and evaluating credible research, applying design principles, and incorporating feedback to strengthen the final product.
Third‑year students showcased practice‑based projects completed under the supervision of registered dietitians working in diverse areas of nutrition and dietetics. Developed over the course of the academic year, many of these projects resulted in polished resources that may be used directly in professional practice. In addition, third‑year students collaborated in groups on program implementation projects, designing and executing nutrition campaigns alongside stakeholders from various backgrounds.
The annual showcase demonstrates how students transition learning into practice, highlighting how classroom knowledge is applied in real‑world settings. The event also offers faculty, peers, and community partners a chance to see how students acquire the skills required to become practicing registered dietitians.
The 2026 showcase marked another successful year celebrating student achievement and professional growth. Faculty and staff say they are excited to see how these emerging professionals will continue to contribute to the evolving field of nutrition and dietetics.
