Pride Pancake Breakfast 2025

The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition

By Taylor Raiche

The EDIA-Wellness Committee hosted a pancake breakfast in support of 2SLGBTQIA+ friends and colleagues in our community this week. The turn-out was great, and we estimate that we fed just over 100 people!

This event was about more than just free food—it was about making it clear that the 2SLGBTQIA+ community is seen, valued, and supported here in our college. Visibility matters, and participation across the college helped show that care, connection, and solidarity exist in this space.

Our planning group, among others here, are acutely aware of the violence and discrimination that threatens the livelihood of queer people around the world and increasingly in the U.S. and Canada. We want our college community to know that we acknowledge the urgency of addressing any distress this may be causing. While we can't control the big world out there, we can control how we treat each other and show allyship and solidarity for one another on and off campus.

If you ever need a nonjudgmental space to talk, process, or just be, know that there are people here who understand and care. Our doors (and inboxes) are open, and we are ready to support you. You never need to share anything about yourself that you’re not comfortable with, and there’s no expectation beyond what you need in the moment.

There is strength in numbers, and we hope that increasing visibility enables us to pool our resources and collective strength to enhance support for the community more systematically.

Let’s keep showing up for each other.
