Congratulations to Dr. Kerry Mansell

Congratulations to Dr. Kerry Mansell for receiving the Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy Innovation Fund grant for his project: A Multi-method Evaluation of Advanced Community Pharmacist Prescribing for the Management of Diabetes.

Pharmacists play an important role in the communities they serve across Saskatchewan, and their scope of practice continues to advance to help the people of Saskatchewan meet their health care needs. After completion of the Advanced Prescribing program and additional requirements, pharmacists will be authorized to prescribe and manage medications for diabetes.

Dr. Mansell and his team of co-investigators (Dr. David Blackburn, Dr. Holly Mansell, Dr. Jeff Taylor) aim to gather insights from pharmacists on the implementation, training, resources, workflow, support, and overall impact of the diabetes management program, as well as collect feedback from patients on experiences, satisfaction levels, and outcomes related to diabetes management.
