The Pharmacy Class of 1985 gathered in Saskatoon for a heartwarming reunion weekend from June 20 to 22, reconnecting, reminiscing, and revisiting the places that shaped their professional and personal lives.
The weekend kicked off Friday evening at Cohen’s Beer Republic, where classmates reunited over drinks and appetizers. Laughter filled the room as stories flowed and decades of memories came rushing back. The casual setting was perfect for an evening of relaxed conversation and warm reconnections.
Saturday morning brought the group back to their academic roots with a special tour of the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Pharmacy and Nutrition. Led by current Dean Jane Alcorn, the tour offered a first-hand look at the College’s new home in the Health Sciences Building and a walk through the Thorvaldson Building, where many had originally studied. The reunion was made even more meaningful with the presence of former Dean Jim Blackburn and his wife Shirl, who joined the class for the day’s events.
Later that evening, the celebrations continued at Prairie Sun Brewery on Broadway Avenue, where the class enjoyed dinner in a private room. With music, photos, and many shared memories, it was a night of joy, reflection, and reconnection.
The weekend wrapped up Sunday morning with a send-off breakfast at the Broadway Café, giving classmates one final opportunity to connect before heading home.
By the end of the reunion, one thing was clear—this class’s bond remains strong after 40 years. Before parting ways, the group unanimously agreed to hold another reunion in 2030, looking forward to creating more shared memories in the years to come.
