2026 Food Price Report

The 16th edition of the annual Food Price Report for 2026 has been released. It is produced by Dalhousie university’s Agri-Food Analytics Lab (AAL) in collaboration with universities across Canada, including the University of Saskatchewan's Dr. Stuart Smyth and his team in the College of Agriculture - Chelsea Sutherland, Claire Williams, Savannah Gleim, and Kate Sauser. Our own Roseann Nasser at the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition was also involved.

The report looks back at highlights from 2025, forecasts food inflation for 2026 across categories, and explains the factors that could affect food prices in the coming year.
