USask-PDW Indigenous Pharmacy Student Award
Congratulations Sasha Merasty. Our 4th year College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan student was a recipient of the USask-PDW Indigenous Pharmacy Student Award.
By Jason BelhumeurThe USask-PDW Indigenous Pharmacy Student Award supports one Indigenous USask pharmacy student to attend Professional Development Week 2024, a student conference aimed at providing the student recipient opportunities to gain valuable knowledge, network with peers and experts, and share their unique perspectives on Indigenous culture, heritage, and contemporary issues. The award conceptualization was inspired by the inaugural Bridging the Gaps Fund created by the CAPSI National Executive Council 2022-2023.
The Bridging the Gaps Fund is aimed at reducing barriers to networking and professional development opportunities for students from historically marginalized communities, which fulfills CAPSI's values of promoting unity, advocacy, professionalism, and supports the academics and excellence of each of our members.
CAPSI strives to facilitate the excellence of pharmacy students in academia and professionalism through the provision of educational and practical experiences outside of the pharmacy curricula. CAPSI supports educational experiences by bridging curricular gaps and meeting learning needs through networking opportunities, webinars, and their annual Professional Development Week (PDW) Conference.
