Pharmacy instructors receive USSU awards
Congratulations to Courtney Charles and Terry Damm who received 2021-22 University of Saskatchewan Students' Union (USSU) Teaching Excellence Awards.
Selected by students, the Teaching Excellence Award recognizes those who have demonstrated enthusiasm, organization and fairness in evaluation, providing exceptional commitment and support to their classrooms. Ten instructors were honoured this year for their outstanding abilities in the classroom.
Charles joined the college in 2014 after working in community and long-term care clinical pharmacy for 9 years. She has spent her time at the university learning how to be an effective teacher and advocates for her students and colleagues by being active in college governance and union work.
Damm jointed the college in 2011 as a lab coordinator and has held various roles. He teaches in first year skills lab, where the students practice the fundamentals of dispensing, patient counseling, compounding, and identifying drug therapy problems. He also continues to work in a community pharmacy one day per week.
