2017 Dean’s Staff Award: Sandy Knowles

Established in 2016, the award recognizes those who demonstrate behaviours in the workplace which reflect University of Saskatchewan and the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition values, or provide exemplary service toward fulfilling the college mission. The annual award is valued at $1,000 and is intended to support the career development or enhance the working environment of the recipient.

Sandy’s committed service to the college has spanned a number of years and different roles. She began her career with the college as the Undergraduate Programs & Admissions Secretary in February 2001 and stayed in the position until January 2012. After working for another college for a few years, Sandy returned to her previous position in January 2015, and then started as the Executive Assistant to the Dean in May 2015.

During her time with the college, Sandy has developed a reputation as a talented multitasker and as someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand. She has mentored new staff, introduced more efficient processes, and demonstrated a caring attitude to earn the respect of her colleagues. A number of glowing letters of support accompanied Sandy’s nomination for this award, which outlined a sincere appreciation for everything she does for the college.
