Student Keely Shaw wins a Silver Medal

Keely is a Kin PhD student co-supervised by Dr. Phil Chilibeck and Dr. Gordon Zello who successfully defended last week.  Her PhD focused on plant-based foods and benefits to the athlete.  Her multidisciplinary research spanned nutrition, agriculture, medicine and kinesiology.

Here she holds her silver medal for her performance in her cycling event (C4-5 track 3,000-metre individual pursuit final) at the Parapan American games in Chile. Keely’s recent PhD seminar presentation covered the Biofortification of Plant-Based Research Products and Applications to Athletes.
