Staff spotlight: Gen Clark

Gen Clark is the college’s research facilitator. As a research development professional, she works closely with researchers to help them achieve funding success.

Prior to joining the college five years ago, Gen worked as a regulatory food toxicologist and health promotion consultant. She enjoyed evaluating and translating research in her previous roles but she loves facilitating research even more. “My passion is helping people, she says, so helping researchers secure the funding, partnerships, and opportunities they need to pursue important health research is a very rewarding endeavour”. A lifelong learner, Gen keeps current with trends in higher education and today’s competitive funding environment, upgrading and diversifying her skill set to better advocate for researchers.

In addition to promoting college research, Gen administers internal grant competitions and the summer student research program, which helps undergraduates gain valuable research experience.
