$5 Million Endowed Chair in Rational Drug Design

Endowment fund granted to the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition

The endowment fund for the Saskatchewan-GlaxoSmithKline Research Chair in Rational Drug Design was granted to the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan as part of GlaxoSmithKline's $25 million Pathfinders Fund for Leaders in Canadian Health Science Research. The pathfinder program was established to help Canada become a world leader in research and development. It encourages health science research and fosters innovation in Canadian Universities. Funding for this chair was also provided by the Government of Saskatchewan, SaskTel, the University of Saskatchewan, and the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition.

Former Dean Dennis Gorecki was responsible for the original fundraising for this chair. We now have received additional funds and approval for the restructuring of the chair from GSK Canada, the Saskatchewan Government, and the University of Saskatchewan.
