Spotlight on Dr. Ekaterina Dadachova

Dr. Dadachova’s group is developing novel radioimmunotherapy-based approaches for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases.

Bio

Dr. Ekaterina Dadachova holds the Silvia Fedoruk Center for Nuclear Innovation Chair in Radiopharmacy. She received her Bachelor in Chemistry and PhD in Physical Chemistry degrees from Moscow State University, Russia. She did her postdoctoral studies in radiopharmaceutical chemistry at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization and was a visiting associate at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Prior to joining the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, she held a professorship in Radiology, Microbiology and Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Research Programs

Dr. Dadachova’s research group has pioneered radioimmunotherapy of infections including fungal and bacterial infections and HIV. Her other research interests include radioimmunotherapy of melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and osteosarcoma as well the development of melanin-based radioprotectors. She is currently funded by SHRF, Canadian Space Agency, Wendy Walk Foundation, Burroughs Wellcome Fund, and private industry.
