COMPASS Community Pharmacy Professionals Advancing Safety in Saskatchewan
Presenters will first provide an overview of COMPASS and SCPP by-laws on CQI. They will include a review on medication safety and its relationship to CQI in community pharmacy practice.
Participants will learn about the ISMP Canada Medication Safety Self-Assessment (MSSA), the Community Pharmacy Incident Reporting (CPhIR) Program, and the online CQI tool. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from COMPASS Champions’ experience during the panel discussion.
E-Tips Preceptor Training Program
E-Tips for Practice Education Program is designed for health care professionals who work with students or other learners in a practice education setting. From “Coffee Talk” to Clinic: The Information You Need to Talk to Your Patients about Cannabis
Presented by Kelly Kizlyk and Tracy Simpson. The goal of the discussion is to provide participants with the information and resources to answer frequently asked questions that patients may have regarding the use of cannabis for medical purposes. Participants will learn a basic overview of the endocannabinoid system, the pharmacology of cannabis, considerations to be made for potential drug interactions and risks of use, and a simple understanding of access and supply. Participants will also be provided with resources for continued learning. The course is CPDPP accredited for 2.0 CEUs.

Partnership to Assist with Cessation of Tobacco (PACT) Level 1 & 2
CPDPP is hosting this course for the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan (PAS). The PACT program can support Tobacco Cessation minor ailment prescribing, but this PACT course is NOT the training program for prescribing. You do not need to be PACT trained to prescribe tobacco cessation products. The training is CPDPP accredited for 4.25 CEUs and is free of charge to all Saskatchewan pharmacists.
Prescriptive Authority Level 1 Basics
This is a mandatory course for all pharmacists practicing in Saskatchewan. For more information, please see the SCPP bylaws. All new registrants must meet these requirements before being granted their initial license to practice.
