Dr. Lesley Moisey, PhD, RD, joined the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition in 2017 as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Nutrition. She completed her PhD at the University of Waterloo where she examined nutrition in survivors of critical illness. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she completed her postgraduate dietetic internship at St. Michael’s Hospital in downtown Toronto, and then went on to work as an acute care dietitian for several years in Toronto. She is a member of the Canadian Nutrition Society, American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, and Dietitians of Canada.
Dr. Moisey’s primary research interests focus on critical care nutrition, with a specific interest in optimizing nutrition in ICU survivors. She is particularly interested in developing evidence-informed integrative nutrition and rehabilitative interventions to enhance nutritional and functional outcomes and quality of life in those surviving critical illness. Her expertise also encompasses clinical nutrition and body composition assessment using advanced modalities.
